EU: Planned substance evaluations in 2024

Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP)

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) collects the chemical substances that have been evaluated by member states or are to be evaluated in the coming years. This list is called the Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP).

The substances that will be evaluated this year and exemplary uses (not an exhaustive list):

  • Tetradecamethylhexasiloxane (CAS-RN: 107-52-8)
    • Adhesives, coatings, detergents, cosmetics and personal care products

  • 2,4,6-tribromophenol (CAS-RN: 118-79-6)
    • Polymers, manufacture of plastics

  • Dioctyltin oxide (CAS-RN: 870-08-6)
    • Polymers, adhesives, coatings, fillers, colorants, metal surface treatment agents

  • 4,4'-isopropylidenebis[2-allylphenol] (CAS-RN: 1745-89-7)
    • Adhesives, polymers, manufacture of plastics

  • 4,4'-isopropylidenedi-2,6-xylene (CAS-RN: 5613-46-7)
    • May occur in the manufacture of thermoplastics

  • (1-methylethylidene)bis(4,1-phenyleneoxy-3,1-propanediyl) bismethacrylates (CAS-RN: 27689-12-9)
    • Dental/orthodontic materials

  • Tetrasodium N,N-bis(carboxylatomethyl)-L-glutamate (CAS-RN: 51981-21-6)
    • Cleaning agents, biocides, polishes, coatings, adhesives

Significance for companies

The inclusion of a substance initially has no legal implications.

The list can serve as an early warning system.
What concerns are there about a substance?
What is a possible follow-up?
(Harmonized classification under the CLP Regulation or for the REACH Regulation a classification as a substance of very high concern, restriction, authorization requirement or other?)

There is the possibility of exchanging information with the member states that are evaluating the substances if the evaluation has not yet been completed.

We are always happy to answer any questions you may have about CoRAP.
