EAWU: Revision of the technical regulation on the safety of machinery and equipment planned

TR ZU 010/2011

The Eurasian Economic Union has published a proposal with amendments for the Technical Regulation on Safety of Machinery and Equipment (TR ZU 010/2011).

The following changes have been proposed:

  • Scope
  • The list of machinery and equipment excluded from the scope.
  • (Among others, this list should include the machines and equipment that fall within the scope of the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Low-Voltage Equipment (TR ZU 004/2011) and whose operation may cause only electrical hazards, such as household appliances for domestic use, audio and video equipment, common office equipment and vending machines).
  • Definitions
  • List of operating documents or the information that must be present in the operating instructions
  • List of machines and equipment subject to certification
  • List of machines and equipment that are subject to declaration
  • In addition, it is proposed to prohibit the manufacture of machinery and equipment from used items, with the exception of machinery manufactured for personal use.

It is expected that the amendments will be submitted to the Eurasian Commission in the fourth quarter of 2022. We will keep you updated!
